Embracing Leisure

Daily life is a hustle most days, so I ensure Leisure activities are non-negotiable for me.

Leisure activities are integral to balance and fulfillment. They provide a necessary breaks from daily stressors, offering a chance for relaxation and rejuvenation. Leisure activities promote mental well-being, stimulates creativity, and contributes to personal growth. Whether it’s reading, pursuing hobbies, or simply enjoying downtime, these activities play a vital role in enhancing overall happiness and maintaining a healthy equilibrium between work and leisure.

Here are 4 of my favourite activities.

Health and Wellness Courses: I have taken a variety of courses from getting my Certified Holistic Nutritionist diploma to getting Sleep, Stress Management and Recovery Certificate. I love learning on my own.

Reading: I enjoy reading a range of genres. I love being able to borrow eBooks from my public library which gives me the ability to try lots of different books. I enjoy using the Libby app with my public library. I have many books on hold. We’ll see how many I get through. If you enjoy reading make time for yourself. Reduce some of your social media scroll time and crack open that book you want to read.

Listening to music: It’s my escape. Using Spotify has opened my ears to so many genres of music and artists. I love how I can just close my eyes and listen if wanted.

Dinner with Friends: I find this activity so important and much needed for myself. Make those memories, laugh those laughs, enjoy those moments. Add some social aspects to your leisure time.

Prioritizing leisure activities is not just a luxury but a fundamental investment in one’s well-being. Ensure you are making time for yours.
